Fishing Report 4-15-22
I know a lot of you have been asking for a fishing report and we've drug our feet putting one out because there just hasn't been much to report yet.
I'll give you the best info I have so far...
Water temp is 49-50 on the main lake and getting up to 52-53 by the end of the day, if the suns out.
Up the river I have heard of water temps in the mid 50's up to 57 or so.
White Bass:
The White Bass are running up the Platte and numbers and size are being caught right now. Minnows, rooster tails, crappie jigs, and anything else that will fit in their mouth has been working.
Crappie:
The Crappie bite has slowed down the last week or so with the fish really spreading out and getting into the early stages of pre spawn. The fish are from 6'-20' depending on where you're fishing. There's a lot of fish around the bridges and I've seen a lot of fish on certain brush piles. They really are changing day to day and have been hard to catch in numbers this week. Minnows and jigs are working the best. In another couple weeks, roadrunner heads with any kind of jig on it will work well.
Catfish:
I haven't heard much on the catfishing yet. The most active fish right now are the Channels and they are coming on cut shad. Flats near channels have been producing.
Bass:
There has been a few tournaments this year and the fishing is steadily picking up from week to week. Congrats to Kyle Alsop and Dylan Mckee for weighing in a MEGA BAG of 25.17lbs last Sunday at the Livin2fish Tournament. A lot of fish are being caught on jerkbaits right now. The Alabama rig has produced some as well. Both are being used around rip rap and main lake points. Jigs around channel swing stumps have produced some fish also. Don't be afraid to pick up one of Gary Burton's Spinnerbaits and throw it on a windy bank either, we've seen a few water donkey's weighed in on a 5/8 oz double colorado blade, chartreuse and white, spinnerbait.
Hopefully this helps guys, the fishing will really pick up when the water warms up a few more degrees.
Come see us and let us know if we can help you with anything.
