Fishing Report 4-22-22
Water Temp on the main lake is 51-53 degrees. Mid to upper 50’s up the river and in pockets.
White Bass:
The White Bass fishing has continued to be good up the lake towards the Plattsburg area. Rooster tails, small spinnerbaits, spoons, and crappie jigs are all working well.
Crappie:
The Crappie have been spread out for a couple weeks. There are some fish shallow and still a large number of fish deeper, 12-20’. Fish are suspended on timber near spawning areas. The bridges are still holding a lot of fish as well. Jigs and minnows are both catching fish. Another couple of warm days and the first few fish may head to the bank.
Bass:
The Bass fishing has been feast or famine but the ones being caught are good ones. Main lake rock is still holding fish in numbers. Jerk baits, wiggle warts, and spinnerbaits are working well. Flipping wood has produced some bites as well.
Catfish:
The Channel cat bite has been good on cut bait. Fish flats near channel swings and be patient.
Walleye:
Walleye have been on the dam in numbers for a week or so. Shad raps, frenzy shads, and jerk baits have worked well.
Everything will continue to get better with the warm weather that’s coming. If you don’t get blown off the lake, it’s a great time of year to be fishing!
