Fishing Report 5-21-21
The fishing has stayed pretty consistent over the week. There are a lot of fish shallow all over the lake at this point and I've had reports everyday of easy limits from north of the bridge to the dam. Jigs and minnows are both still working really well. As far as colors, anything with chartruese in it is working well. We are selling a lot of junebug. I would expect a good weekend of fishing with the warm days and it staying warm over night so the big girls should continue to move up all over the lake.
The Bass fishing has remained really good. A lot of fish are being caught on several different baits right now. Senko's, either wacky rigged or texas rigged around wood are producing fish. Black and blue, green pumpkin, or any variations of those colors seem to always work. The topwater bite has been good as well. Ploppers, spook style baits, and frogs around cover are catching fish. Bone and black are my two personal favorite colors in just about any topwater. With the water as clean as it is you may even be able to catch a fish on a swimbait...
The catfishing is picking up as the water warms up. A lot of channels are being caught on flats near the channels. Fish from 5'-15' close to deeper water. Cut shad has been the best bait for us this week, on the lake. I have seen some pictures of giants caught on Platte this week. The Blue's and Flathead's both are biting great with the river coming up and all the runoff. Goldfish have worked well on the river.
